We are selling this impressive helmet of the Wehrmacht that belonged to a missing in action soldier who very likely died in the Cherkassy pocket. Helmet is in excellent condition, and was found in a bunker sunken in clay that contained no oxigen, therfore the leather and paint are in very good condition. Leather interior is, as you can see, in very good condition. Also the paint very well preserved: two tones of green can be seen. The old apple green used before the war, and the Feldgrau used during the war with which helmet was painted. Also both decals are preserved: the army eagle with swastika and the decal with the national colours of Nazi Germany on both sides. This model is an M35. Helmet has also a hit of a shrapnel that made dent and a crack that give this helmet lots of character and "battle been there" condition. Inside the helmet, there's a name written on it in withe paint: Uffz. Hellmig 1/12 III. Hans Hellmig was the name of the owner, and according to some research we did, he was considered as disappeared 12.03.1943 in Pisserewka.
