Litzmannstadt ghetto was the second in size within occupied Poland, just after Warsaw ghetto. This ghetto was leaded by the elder Jew Chaim Rumkowski, whose facsimile signature can be seen on the lower side of the banknote. Banknotes in ghetto Litzmannstadt was introduced for the purpose of greater isolation of Jews in the ghetto. Outside the ghetto, they had no value.
