He was ordained in Lithuania in 1913 (around age 22), and became chief Orthodox rabbi of Kansas City, and a Talmud scholar.Rabbi Braver married his first cousin Rivka Golda "Rebecca" Itzikovitz 17 Aug 1913 in Etkunen, Germany, and sailed to NY soon after. He served in Akron, Ohio, 1913-23.Rabbi Braver had a son Chaim/Hyman Avigdor, who was killed serving in WWII in 1943; a son Binyamin Meyer "Ben"; a son Refoel "Ralph."In Kansas City, Rabbi Braver and Rebecca had Eliezer Simcha (Louis Simon); twins Miriam and Soshona; and Yosef Leib (Joseph Levi).
