Ultra rare ID tag that belonged to a fallen soldier of the 15. Waffen-Grenadier-Division der SS (lettische Nr. 1), the Latvian Waffen SS volunteers' division!!! This ID tag was found in the surrounding area of Leningrad by metal detectors, where this division saw action during the siege of Leningrad. Latvians were fervent anti-communists and anti-Semitic was also very present in daily life in Latvia. SS volunteers lastly enrolled in this SS division and fought in the East against Bolshevism.
